The developer of Life is Strange, Don't Nod, has shown off their new game, Justant, and it is nothing like we've seen before.

We are probably all familiar with the Life is Strange game series, with their rich story that is driven by the choices you make. However, it would seem that developer, Don't Nod, has something new in-store for us with their upcoming title, Justant, which seems to be something that gamers have yet to see come from the studio.

Despite Don't Nod being predominantly known for the Life is Strange games, the French studio has actually worked on quite a few titles including games such Me Why, Twin Mirror, and The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, which is a spin-off to Life is Strange. The studio has ventured into less action-packed titles that focus more on narrative and storytelling such as Vampyr and Remember Me. There's one thing that the studio is known for and that is excellent writing, which has garnered the studio high amounts of praise.

The studio does have a few titles in the works, including Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, which is coming sometime in 2023. However, Harmony is a bit of a safe project, as it would seem that it is well within the studio's comfort zone and it is an incredibly narrative focused adventure title. The same cannot be said about Justant, which seems to be a part of the studio's attempt to create new IPs.

The first trailer for Justant was dropped on the Studios official YouTube channel. The game has been announced for Fall 2023 and will be releasing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. As for what the game will be about, the studio claims that the game will be a puzzle climbing game, which is a genre we haven't seen much of except for Atlus' Catherine. If you are interested in checking out the game, you will be happy to know that a demo is currently available on Steam. The game will also be available on Xbox Gamepass on release.

From what was shown off in the trailer, Justant seems to feature an art style that is incredibly reminiscent of Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild. It would seem that its art style isn't the only thing that Justant takes inspiration from, as the game's climbing mechanic is highly reminiscent of the climbing we see in both games. We see this when the game's protagonist scales some mountains and long-lost ruins.

From what we can see in the trailer, it would seem that Justant will be an interesting mix of Shadow of the Colossus and modern Legend of Zelda games, with a bit of Catherine thrown in. We cannot wait to see what Justant has in store for us when the game releases later this year.
