Leaked Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Map Has Too Much Water

Over the weekend, a significant Call of Duty Black Ops 6 leak revealed a new Warzone map and more. Activision accidentally uploaded a beta build of the game to the PSN database, allowing PS4 players to access it.

The new Warzone map, Babylon, faced criticism from fans for being mostly water. Fans argue that Warzone isn’t about swimming; it's about shooting guns at opponents, and water complicates that.

This is an odd thing to be mad about, if I’m being honest. Anyway, the recent leak that is behind this also revealed several details about Call of Duty Black Ops 6, including nine multiplayer maps. Not all these maps appear to be for 6v6 modes; three or four seem to be 2v2 maps, likely available in the Faceoff game mode returning from Black Ops Cold War.
 

 

The leaked maps seem small to medium in size, suggesting the beta build will focus on these sizes. It’s confirmed that at launch, there will be 12 6v6 maps and four Faceoff maps.

Despite being early leaks, the game appears to offer more features and depth compared to recent Call of Duty titles, indicating a more polished and fleshed-out game. While the gameplay remains unjudged until community testing, the variety in features like reticle customization, emotes, sprays, and HUD customization makes the game look promising.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is set to be released on October 25, 2024. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, making the subscription look more appealing, but consider that the prices for the tiers were raised to allow this.

There’s another catch: while Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will get day-one access, those with the standard Game Pass tier will have to wait.

This change in access tiers has sparked some controversy in the gaming community. To play Black Ops 6 on Game Pass at launch, you will need to subscribe to either the Ultimate or PC Game Pass tier, and you have the option to buy the game on its own too, but that feels like the worst option out of the three because you don’t get access to the Game Pass library, and you are paying much more upfront.
