Link Will Get His Own Ride in Mario Kart 8
The first DLC Pack of the game will not be its last

Along with the inclusion of Link as a playable character in Mario Kart 8, Nintendo announced that the hero of the The Legend of Zelda series will get his own ride. Through its Tweeter account, Nintendo revealed the first image of the, appropriately named, Master Cycle.
The bike is supposed to have a lot of horsepower and resembles the art style of the upcoming Zelda game. It is currently unknown if Link will be the only character able to use the bike, but odds dictate he won’t.
The original announcement made by Nintendo of America hints estates that Link and the Master Cycle won’t be the only Zelda themed elements present in the DLC. This is what Nintendo said about it.
Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario's Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.
Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 - Released: November 2014
Pack 1 includes:
- 3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
- 4 Vehicles
- 8 Courses
So, it seems, Nintendo will be providing new content for the game periodically and will feature elements from its different beloved franchises. At the moment, we can only speculate what other themed DLC may be coming to Mario Kart 8. As for the people who pre-order the DLC Pack 1, they will be able to see a Triforce icon each time they enter the Grand Prix Menu, which, along with the announcement made by Nintendo, may entail the addition of a whole cup set in the Zelda universe.
