New Batman & Wonder Woman Games in the Same Universe?

What's next to come from Warner Bros. after Wonder Woman and Batman games!

A new Batman game is no longer a rumor, and it's currently being developed. Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav has officially confirmed this information, along with everything else he has said after their earnings call, which is definitely exciting news for DC fans. This new Batman game is probably being worked on by Rocksteady right now since we already know that after Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, they pitched the idea to David Zaslav and James Gunn, who are in charge of all of DC's games.

Even though Warner Bros. Games is currently working on the Definitive Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, Rocksteady approached Warner Bros. with the idea of a single-player game following Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Nevertheless, we have a strong skepticism that it will be a game set within the Batman universe created by Matt Reeves. The upcoming Batman game might pick up where Arkhamverse left off, continuing the story of the Batman Arkham games, or it could stay in the same universe as Batman: Arkham Knight.

Another theory floating around within Warner Bros. is that it takes place before the events of the Batman Arkham games. The new DC universe, created by James Gunn, might also serve as the setting for the game. Given that rumors have claimed that Batman will be joining the DC universe, we have the option to play as either the present or younger version of the character. It may be in his thirties or forties so that we could play as a younger Batman.

There's also a possibility that the game takes place in an entirely new universe, like the DC Games universe, or a total and utter remake of the Arkhamverse. With this, not only will a new Batman be introduced, but other superheroes will also be able to join this reality. The game might pave the way for future games, such as Superman, and even have the Wonder Woman game tailored to fit into this alternate reality. It may even set the way for a future Justice League game.

Additionally, we must not overlook Wonder Woman from Monolith Productions, the studio responsible for Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Shadow of Mordor (two of my most favorite games of all time). They have now put the Wonder Woman game teaser on their website, and it stands out, so it appears like an update might be on the way.

For now, though, only the trailer for the Game Awards, which took place three years ago, is linked to. Perhaps on December 12th, after three long years, the Game Awards will finally unveil some official gameplay footage or other glimpse of the game. Our only information about the Wonder Woman games is that it will feature an open world, be single-player exclusive where Diana will fight to unite Amazons and mankind, and feature the Nemesis System once more like how we saw in Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War, and then in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

So, it appears that Wonder Woman and Batman are the two DC games that are being developed. On the other hand, David Zaslav has openly stated their intention to collaborate with other studios in order to license their other franchises. This encompasses not only the DC world but also any developer's ideas; for example, we all know that Warner Bros. Games would never create a Green Lantern game since they have so much DC property sitting around. Comic Book Heroes has been around for quite some time, but all of their games have focused on Batman.

We can only hope that other developers will be able to license these other superheroes and that we will see a Superman game and a Flash game in the near future. A studio unaffiliated with Warner Brothers could be working on more DC character games. Like Insomniac's upcoming Wolverine game or even Marvel's Spider-Man games, they're considering making all of their games connect so that players may explore a shared environment. This could pave the way for a Justice League game, but the kind of game we witnessed with DC Universe Online.
