New Resident Evil 7 Trailer Teases Fake Chris Redfield Theory
Could Chris Redfield be a fake?
News by Grayshadow on Nov 25, 2017
Thanks to Capcom's marketing even those who never played Resident Evil 7 know that Chris Redfield is in the game. The upcoming free expansion takes place after the events of the game and has players taking control of the veteran soldier, however, the latest trailer has ignited a theory thought to be dead.
The trailer shows a man named Pete pointing how Chris Redfield was an intense opponent of Umbrella and is about to show a photo of Chris before cutting out to the Not a Hero promotional art.
The theory is that this Chris Redfield is an imposter, either a clone of the original or the Umbrella operative HUNK in disguise. Currently, no evidence supports either claim and this could be Capcom poking fun at the community or confirming it. Chris has undergone multiple character redesigns and it wouldn't be shocking to see the former S.T.A.R.S. agent change his appearance again. However, considering the game's long history with Umbrella and Chris working against them it's likely that this could be an imposter. Until the DLC releases, this is all speculation.
Not a Hero launches with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, which includes all DLC, on December 12th. Resident Evil 7 is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
