Nintendo Has Ended 3DS Production
Nintendo will not produce anymore 3DS systems
News by Grayshadow on Sep 17, 2020
Many expected the Nintendo 3DS would be the last handheld system from Nintendo after the Nintendo Switch launched. Now Nintendo has ended manufacturing all forms of the system starting now.
This includes the 3DS, 2DS, 2DS XL, and every other system after the core 3DS model released. The system has a rough launch with a high price point and lackluster releases.
Nintendo reduced the price, providing everyone who purchased the system early free NES and Gameboy Advance titles, and eventually launched acclaimed titles such as Kid Icarus: Uprising, multiple Pokemon games, and Super Mario 3D Land to name a few. Along with dozens of special edition versions of the system to keep sales.
The 3DS had a long life but now its time to say goodbye. For those wondering about the online features, it's likely the system will be supported for now until Nintendo decides to cut that service off as they did for the Wii.
