Overwatch, Blizzard's team-based hero shooter, has officially revealed the dates of their next event. According to the official Overwatch Twitter page, the Summer Games event will debut for the game on August 4, lasting until the 25th. The Overwatch Summer Games have always been a fan favorite event, allowing players to experience new game modes and skins, exclusive only to this event.

In years past, Overwatch has given players a game called Lucioball, which quickly became a knockout. Users get to play as Lucio, the game's music-based healer, and two teams of 3 play soccer against each other with a unique twist. Although no new game modes have been announced as of yet for the 2020 Summer Games, the Overwatch Twitter page has revealed some brand new skins.

With the arrival of this event, all past and presenty Summer Games skins will be purchasable with in-game currency, and offered in event-specific loot boxes. This year, Blizzard has given skins to its two ariel based DPS heroes, Pharah and Echo.

Pharah, Summer Games, 2020

Pharah has been given a unique Lifeguard skin, featuring a new color scheme on her original armor, as well as flotation devices around the suit. She is wearing a lifevest, has two flotation devices on her shoulders, and has introduced some sort of water based jets to her propulsion system.

Echo, Summer Games 2020

As for Overwatch's newest hero, Echo has recieved some changes to her traditional look as well. While maintaining the white base color, Echo has been given a unique hairstyle, despite the fact that she is an AI without hair. Her new look also features surfboard style wings and an orange secondary color, similar to Pharah's.

While no other new skins have been revealed, the Summer Games event will also likely include new sprays and voice lines, as per previous events. Additionally, all other Summer Games exclusive skins will become available, so players should make sure they have enough in-game currency saved up to buy their favorite skins.
