Since its release, the Overwatch community has seen the release of 2 heroes, the medic class Ana and the assault class Sombra. Many are speculating that the next hero will be a Tank class called Doomfist but Overwatch director, Jess Kaplan, has just crushed that rumor.

Speaking on the Battle.net forums Kaplan explained that the 24th hero "is not who you think it is". Since the primary rumor around the internet has been Doomfist Kaplan is most likely directing his commands to those rumors.

Kaplan didn't go into detail but did offer to answer questions about updates about Overwatch including new sitting and laughing emotes for newcomers Sombra and Ana.

“It’s on the schedule. Unfortunately, it is months out.”

“New heroes will most likely not have sit and laugh emotes for some period of time after their release. We’d rather not hold new hero releases for these emotes. But we do plan to add them over time.”

Doomfist has been the speculated hero for some time after the release of Sombra. Many citing the easter eggs in Overwatch and that a Tank and Support class haven't received a hero as of yet. If Doomfist isn't the next hero it could be a support class next.

Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
