The rumors surrounding Resident Evil 9 have been all over the place, and some of them have even contradicted each other. Reports state that Leon and Jill will be the main characters in Resident Evil 9, yet there have also been rumors denying those claims. While some have speculated that Resident Evil 9 will feature an entirely open world, others are looking for something in the center of what Village and Resident Evil 7 offered.
A trustworthy Resident Evil leaker has mentioned that the highly anticipated 9th installment in the series will be a major reinvention comparable to that of the Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7 installments. Although Capcom has not made an official announcement yet, the long-running survival-horror series' massive fan base makes its release inevitable, and Resident Evil 9 is believed to be scheduled for 2026 release.
Prior to Capcom's official announcement, fans should treat any information on Resident Evil 9 with skepticism. However, new information on the project may have been leaked by the dependable leaker Aesthetic Gamer, also known as Dusk Golem. If their leak is accurate, Resident Evil 9 will be a "big reinvention of the series", similar to RE4 and RE7.
In contrast to Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion, and the Resident Evil 4 Remake, the rumored Resident Evil 9 will be trying new things and will be very ambitious. Speculation has it that Capcom will unveil Resident Evil 9 at the Switch 2 Direct, if not later this year, so at least we won't have to wait any longer to see the game in action. Although many established video game series are content to stay the course, Capcom's Resident Evil series has always been fearless in its pursuit of innovation. Resident Evil 4 broke new ground with its action-packed gameplay and over-the-shoulder viewpoint after years of playing by the same old model.
With the switch to a first-person perspective and a significant increase in the fright factor, Resident Evil 7 was yet another reinvention of the genre. Resident Evil 9's reinvention of the series is sure to be an intriguing spectacle. It might do something we haven't even considered yet, or it could use the open-world structure that has been circulating.
On the other hand, Capcom is developing the REX engine. We don't know much about it up until now, but based on what we do know, it seems like it will be an improved version of the current RE engine. Capcom, on the other hand, got way ahead of themselves and decided to integrate this technology with the engine they already had. It will definitely be effective.
In any case, fans will appreciate the news that Resident Evil 9 will supposedly be presented this year. The announcement of the specific plans for Capcom's megahit franchise will end a great deal of speculation and gossip. Fans are curious to see if Resident Evil 9 can continue Capcom's recent hot streak.
