A new partnership, leaked codenames, and cryptic clues point to more Silent Hill remakes.

With the Silent Hill 2 Remake selling over 2 million copies worldwide since its debut in October 2024, it appears that more remakes of the popular horror game are on the way. Rumors and leaks have suggested that Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3 Remakes are already in development, and recent official news from Konami and Bloober Team adds to this probability.

On February 25, 2025, Konami and Bloober Team formally launched a new cooperative project based on a Konami IP.  This follows the success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake, which sold more than 2 million copies since its release. While the exact intellectual property for the new initiative has not been disclosed, the alliance intends to expand on its previous success.

Speculation concerning remakes of Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3 has been swirling for months, with multiple leaks indicating that both projects are already in development. In October 2024, a tweet from user Planeta Play (when translated) claimed that a Silent Hill 3 Remake was now in the works under the codename Project H.

According to reports, this remake will take the same approach as the Silent Hill 2 Remake, with an emphasis on survival horror features, a more immersive narrative, and Konami's ambition to grow the Silent Hill IP. Industry reports have highlighted codenames for Bloober Team's planned projects. According to an article released by Industry Games Ecosystem in March 2023, Bloober Team has seven games in development from 2023 to 2027. Four of these were developed in-house, while three were developed in collaboration with external partners.

One significant finding in this report was that the Silent Hill 2 Remake was listed alongside Project C. Given that the Silent Hill 2 Remake was released in October 2024 and Project C is thought to be Bloober Team's future IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, which is planned to release in 2025, this leaves two unaccounted-for projects: Project G and Project H.

It is usually assumed that Project G alludes to a Silent Hill 1 Remake, whilst Project H is a Silent Hill 3 Remake. Adding to the mystery, earlier this year, Silent Hill series monster designer Masahiro Ito published a new sketch of The Closer, one of the foes from Silent Hill 3.  While no official remark accompanied the design, many fans interpret it as another subtle signal that a Silent Hill 3 remake is in the works.

With the enormous success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Konami appears to be increasing its interest in the franchise. Given Bloober Team's success with Silent Hill 2, it wouldn't be shocking if they were also charged with rebuilding Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3.

It's unclear whether these remakes are actually in development or just in the planning stages, but the evidence is mounting.  With Konami and Bloober Team confirming another partnership and leaks indicating that many projects are in development, fans may not have to wait long for formal confirmation.
