During PlayStation's State of Play on 23rd February, Capcom revealed that veteran combatants Zangeif and Cammy are returning in the upcoming Street Fighter 6, along with a new character, Lily. These three round out the 18-character launch roster.

Newcomer Lily is a member of the Mexican Thunderfoot tribe whose "small stature conceals gigantic power." She wields a pair of warclubs and harnesses the wind in her attacks. Her unique move Condor Wind grants her a Windclad stock which, in turn, powers up her special moves. Many of these, like Condor Dive and Condor Spire, see Lily leaping toward her enemy.

British special forces operative and grumpy cat lover Cammy was the second female fighter in the Street Fighter franchise. Having swapped her familiar green leotard for a blue leather jacket and tactical gym wear. "The Heavy versions of Spiral Arrow, Cannon Spike, and Hooligan Combination can now be held down to delay the move while also changing its properties or damage." Likewise, Capcom has suggested a few surprises are in store when Cammy uses her Hooligan Combination move.

Finally, there is the legendary grappler Zangief. The Red Cyclone has picked up a new move while teaching the next generation of sweaty, egotistical wrestlers. Tundra Storm is a counter to "an opponent's grounded kick resulting in a damaging throw." When he's not flexing for his adoring fans, Zangief "still has his trademark throws like Screw Piledriver and Siberian Express."

Zangief and Cammy join returning fighters Ryu and Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Dee Jay, Juri, and Luke. Meanwhile Lily is one of six new characters alongside the smartly dressed JP, Greek gladiator Marisa, supermodel Manon, graffiti-artist-cum-wannabe-ninja Kimberly, and Chinese dancer and martial artist Jamie.
