Pokémon Go has been around for quite some time. The game is constantly expanding and to celebrate the addition of the Hindi language to the game, both Niantic and The Pokémon Company will be hosting a special event. However, it looks like a majority of players will not be able to attend or snag free rewards from it. Which hasn't happened before with previous monthly celebrations.
Pokémon Go was first launched in 2016, and in those seven years the game is still one of the most popular mobile games of all time. The game is loved by many across the globe and it is often the celebrations that bring together both players and just general fans of the Pokémon franchise, these special events such as Community Day and Pokemon GO Fest events often feature special Pokémon for the event and allow players to test their metal against challenging raids. This is also a time for both Niantic and The Pokémon Company to share exciting news about upcoming additions to the game, like the recently announced Pokemon GO City Safari event which will be launching in October for select cities.
The most recent of these events will be geared towards the region of India, this is to celebrate the game's launch in India as well as the addition of the Hindi language. The Aao Khele Pokemon GO special event will be hosted this weekend, but there seems to be a bit of a catch. While most events are community focused and allow many players to come together, the Aao Khele Pokemon GO special event is exclusive to India, and a large majority of the game's playerbase won't be able to attend. During the event, players in India will be able to conduct field research on the Kanto starter Pokémon Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirrel. Players will also be able to encounter shiny Pokémon, earn extra Candies, and even earn Mega Energy for the aforementioned starters.
The Aao Khele Pokemon GO special event will be live until October 14 at 8:00 p.m. local time in India. Niantic has also promised to continue updating and improving Pokémon Go's Hindi support. If you're sad that you won't be able to attend this special event, don't worry, as players will be able to attend the September 2023 Community Day event launching on 23 September 2023. Here players will be able to snag increased candy drops, higher XP gains, reduced trading costs, and boosted encounter rates, alongside possibly encounter Pokémon from the recently released Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
