It is unclear if the studio will ever return to Crash Bandicoot.

Toys for Bob has announced that it will now be assisting Raven to create seasonal content for Call Of Duty Warzone. It has not been confirmed what their exact role will be or how much man power is now required from the studio. This is a major shift for the studio, which is mostly known for their work on the kid friendly Skylanders series. After being acquired by Activision, Toys for Bob was also tasked with overseeing the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and most recently Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. While these games were praised, sales of standalone games are not nearly as profitable as live services like Call of Duty.

It is unclear what the fate of the Crash Bandicoot series will be. Despite Toys for Bob’s incredible efforts on reviving the dormant franchise, rumors have spread that it will now be handled by Beenox (who assisted with additional work). Shifting from a major studio to a support center will also likely lead to redundancies and layoffs at Toys for Bob.
