Microsoft'sXbox 25th anniversary collection is coming soon. You can now pre-order the device before it hits stores later this year. The limited-edition set includes a Halo game, a special Xbox Series X, and a matching controller. The controller comes first, and then the system itself will be available for pre-order and at launch on Black Friday.
Microsoft's Xbox 25th anniversary collection is getting closer to release. You can now pre-order the device before it hits stores later this year. The limited-edition set includes a Halo game, a special Xbox Series X, and a matching controller. The controller launches first, and then the system will be available for pre-order and at launch on Black Friday.

Xbox 25th anniversary collection, often referred to as the X25, begins with the launch of a special-edition controller.
GameStop has already opened pre-orders for the controller with a $10 deposit, and it retails for $79.99. The controller is scheduled to release on October 20. We already knew the controller would arrive before the console, and Microsoft appears to be following that plan. While you can buy the controller separately, the complete collection includes additional items tied to the anniversary release.
For now, customers can pre-order through Microsoft's website or authorized retailers, but only while supplies last. There will be two opportunities to purchase the system. The first is through the August pre-order period, and the second is during the retail launch on November 27, which falls on Black Friday. If you miss the pre-order window, Black Friday could be your final chance to buy the console at launch.
Supply concerns remain, and once pre-orders sell out, additional stock may not become available before release. Current Xbox Series X pricing has also become part of the discussion surrounding this launch. The standard Series X has recently been priced at $798 at Walmart, whereas earlier prices were much lower.
Xbox X25 collection includes three items: a limited-edition Xbox Series X console, a matching controller, and a digital copy of Halo Campaign Evolved. The console itself features a transparent neon-green design inspired by the original Xbox released in 2001. The appearance references the classic look of Microsoft’s first gaming system while pairing it with current-generation hardware.
The full Xbox X25 package costs $899.99 and goes on sale on November 27 during Black Friday.
For those who want only the controller, the standalone version is available for $79.99. Anyone who purchases the Xbox X25 collection will also receive a digital download code for Halo: Combat Evolved. The inclusion serves as a callback to Halo: Combat Evolved, the game that launched alongside the original Xbox in 2001.
Adding Halo connects the anniversary hardware to one of Xbox’s most important franchises and gives buyers an extra item alongside the console and controller. We may have a better chance if we pre-order rather than wait until November. Microsoft notifications, retailer websites, and local stores could all become important once pre-orders begin.
GameStop locations have already confirmed controller reservations through deposits, while console allocation information may become available as pre-orders open. Xbox X25 launches in stages. The controller comes out on October 20 and costs $79.99. Pre-orders for the console start on August 27.
