Absolum Guide | How to Unlock Ritual of Fire

In Absolum, you will face many challenges, especially if you are new to beat ‘em up games. As a roguelite, the game is designed around repetition, where defeat and rebuilding are part of your progress. Each run helps you strengthen your character until you are ready to reach the end.

The game has a feature called Rituals that makes this process easier to handle. These give you natural powers that improve your skills and give you new ways to fight your way through the stages.

Understanding Rituals

Rituals function as elemental upgrades that you can acquire while progressing through a run. They are similar to Boons in Hades, though not linked to deities. Instead, every Ritual represents a distinct element, such as Fire, Thunder, Necromancy, or Chaos. These upgrades appear randomly during your journey when you break a Crystal, presenting a selection of Rituals to choose from.

By default, you can choose between two Rituals upon breaking a crystal. However, once you locate Vikhana in Jaroba, this number increases to three available Rituals per crystal. Vikhana also offers upgrades that enhance your existing Rituals and unlock advanced effects, including combined elemental traits for greater versatility.

There are a total of seven Rituals in Absolum. Except for one, all must be unlocked as you progress through the game. Some are awarded after defeating specific bosses, while others are hidden in particular map locations. To access them, you need to locate a large Crystal in these areas and destroy it to unlock the corresponding Ritual.

Ritual of Fire

The Ritual of Fire is the first elemental power you gain in Absolum and is the easiest one to unlock. You will acquire it during the game’s prologue, where you rescue Mother. Once you find her, she will tell you how to break your first crystal, which will let you use powers that are based on fire.
