Chapter 1 begins with a straightforward path after the opening dialogue. Move forward, turn left, and continue ahead until the cutscene plays and the door opens. Keep moving forward until you reach the barrier. After the next dialogue and cutscene, continue through the path until you arrive at the first puzzle door.

How To Open The First Scanned Door

When you reach the closed door, scan it first. After scanning, go to the right side of the stairs. Jump across the stones and press the button there. A narrow path will open on the right side. Follow it, move through the passage, and jump left when the path requires it. Continue forward until you reach another button.

How To Solve The Two-Button Door Puzzle

Pressing the next button alone will not open the way. Your companion will move to the other button, so wait for the countdown. When the timing starts, press your button at the right moment. This opens the door and lets you move through.

After entering, your Suit Light activates following the dialogue. Press the button on the right side of the door to turn on the lights, then press the button on the left side of the door. Turn around, go back down the pathway, then head right through the cave.

How To Scan The Artifact

Go up the stairs inside the cave and approach the Artifact carefully. You need to stand at the correct distance before the scan works. Once you are positioned properly, scan the Artifact. After that, open your Dossier when the game asks you to do so.

After checking the Dossier, turn around and return through the narrow passageway. Head right, drop down, then go left down the stairs. Jump across the gap on the left and press both buttons. A cutscene will play. Jump back toward the stairs, go up, and press the button near the door when it does not open automatically.

How To Activate The Bridge

After more dialogue, move forward, then turn around when the game indicates someone is behind you. After the dialogue, go right and press the button to activate the bridge. Your companion will press the matching button from the other side. Wait until the bridge forms, then cross it.

Once you are across, press the button again so your companion can cross as well. Go through the doorway after both sides are connected.

How To Remove The Force Field

After the bridge section, drop down, go left, then drop down again. Continue forward after the dialogue and drop down once more. At the Force Field, turn right and wait until the dialogue ends. You can then scan three different objectives.

Scan the first objective nearby, then scan the second one in the next visible position. For the third objective, go up the stairs, continue up the next set of stairs, and jump across to the right. Scan the final objective there, then drop back down. Once all three objectives are scanned, the Force Field disappears. A final cutscene plays, completing Chapter 1.
