Dragon Age: The Veilguard Guide | The Warden Vault Quest in Rivain Coast

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Rivain Coast hosts the Warden Vault Quest - a romp through an ancient castle replete with hidden secrets, challenging puzzles, and a treasure vault opened only to the most determined adventurers. 

Here’s a guide on how to navigate the castle, solve the puzzles, and claim the valuable rewards hidden within the Warden Vault.

How To Enter the Castle and Start the Quest

Once you make it to the castle along the Rivain Coast, you’ll spot a quest marker that kicks off the Warden Vault Quest. As soon as you enter, look around until you see that marker. This quest will lead you deep into the castle, where we’re going to solve a series of puzzles and challenges to finally open up the vault.

The Torch Puzzle

Inside the castle, keep moving until you find an area with several torches set up. To get through this puzzle, you’ll need to ignite the torches in a specific order.

Here’s the trick—light up the torch on the left first, then the right torch, and finally the one in the middle. If you do this correctly, you’ll hear or see the puzzle unlock, which opens up the way to go even deeper into the castle.

Unlock the First Green Flame

Once you’ve opened up that path, continue forward until you come across a lever. Pulling this lever will activate the first of three green flames.

These green flames are essential—each one you light gets you a step closer to opening the vault door. Pull the lever, watch for the flame, and don’t be surprised if a few enemies show up. Take them out before you move forward.

Find the Green Spirit

With the first flame lit, your next task is to follow a green spirit that’ll guide you to the second lever. Watch closely—this spirit will weave through walls, leading you through hidden areas of the castle.

Don’t let it out of your sight. Keep following until it leads you to the next lever. Pull a lever, and the second green flame will ignite, taking you two-thirds of the way to opening the vault.

Light the Third and Final Flame

Only one flame to go! Head toward the courtyard, where you’ll find the final green spirit waiting for you. Stick close to it, as this spirit will also guide you toward another hidden section of the castle.

Be ready for a fight along the way, though—some guards or other enemies are bound to be protecting the last lever. Take them down, activate the final lever, and watch as the third and last green flame lights up. That’s it; you’ve now unlocked all three flames.

Head Back to the Vault Door for Your Reward

With all three green flames active, it’s finally time to head back to the vault door. At this point, the way to the legendary Warden Vault should be open.

Step inside and take your time soaking in the reward for your efforts—this vault is packed with valuable chests containing rare items, treasures, and unique gear. Open everything you see, and don’t miss a thing.
