Dragon Age: The Veilguard Guide | Best Early-Mid Game Items
Here are the best early and mid-game items in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

This guide is going to show how one can obtain a nearly complete set of uniques for any class, and you won't have to wait very far into the game to get them. Some of these items become available as soon as you reach the first town, and all of the items covered here are obtainable by Chapter 6.
As the name suggests, uniques come with special abilities, often outclassing the power of other items that give substantial boosts to your build. You could find a dagger with a high bleed stack so you can stack bleed on enemies up to ten layers, way over what's possible in a normal build. Let's dive into the locations and methods for picking them up.
Meet Treviso
Items here can be picked up as early as your first visit to Treviso - at about level 10 or so - but make sure you have recruited Lucanus first because one of his powers is required to unlock a puzzle down here.
Head northeast from the Anan Hideout to an area known as the De La Morte Estate. Take the zip line across the pond, over a few bridges, and keep left until you reach a larger courtyard. In the center of it, you will activate statues, which will start with the one at the dock.
Use the reach mechanic to change the direction of the statues' hands, directing them where they need to go.
Next, jump onto the statues to reach three levers that are nearby. Pull these to open a giant barred door showing you a final statue. Enter the newly opened room and align the statue to point toward a secret area, then proceed.
The process will open the door, revealing several treasures, one of which is a chest containing a one-of-a-kind item called Jenny's Belt. This belt releases bees on every instance of you healing with potions to attack targets around you. Those bees would be dealing quite a substantial amount of damage and interrupt the enemies, hence making this item particularly overvalued for bleed builds or higher difficulties.
Treviso's Financial District
The second is in Treviso's Financial District, on top of a cathedral. To get there, head southeast over a series of bridges until you come to a corner that leads up to the cathedral.
Climb the ladders and jump the gap across to the cathedral rooftop before turning right and then left. Gain access through a broken window before heading all the way to the back, where you can ascend to an upper balcony.
You'll receive a weapon now that varies depending on class. If you're a Mage, you get the Point Staff, which uses bleeding and necrosis stacks on a target to heal you. Rogues will receive Cordova's Toothpick, which greatly increases how many bleed stacks can be put on someone, up to 10 layers with the right passives.
This weapon can carry you well into the latter stages of the game-especially against non-immune enemies.
How to Unlock Secret Arlathan Forest Area
The following is a list of weapons and armor pieces that will become available once the player has gained access to the Arlathan Forest. Specifically, this will be starting the side quest with Devin called "How to Train Your Griffin." This will first become available during Chapter 6; once the quest has begun, make a permanent save, as a major choice will shortly come up.
Once the quest starts, head to the Ancient Aqueduct in Arlathan Forest. Head along the path, keeping right as you pass through a cave and into a previously locked door.
The path opens up into Hidden Grove; cross the river, climb some scaffolding, and make a jump across a gap. Here, you can find a key puzzle item required to unlock a new bridge into the tainted forest area.
Work your way through the blighted area to get to the first unique chest, which contains Andrel's Cord Longbow, if you are playing rogue. This greatly increases the damage from arrows and any weak point damage at the cost of your overall arrow count. If you build correctly, you can regenerate arrows on headshots for constant high damage. Unique Item # 2 in Arlathan.
Then, in that same general area, right from the entrance into the forest - you will have to activate three relics powered by three devices scattered around the area.
Cross the flowing river to the first relic; drop below to trigger it, powering up the device nearby. Next, head down the shoreline to a second device; there is a key nearby that will trigger this second device. Rotate it to face the relic on a platform nearby.
The third is at the forest's entrance. Go up the stairs, through the small gate, across the logs, and there it will be. When activated, it opens a bridge leading to an encounter, with one last chest containing a unique light helmet, the Iron Veil.
It's a great helmet for users who deal in necrotic damage, summoning apparitions that explode and deal necrotic damage to targets around them once an enemy is defeated. It has good defenses and ability boosts for this stage.
How to Solve The Warden's Vault
Return to Revane with your new companion, Tash, for some special jewelry in the form of Serpent's Kiss. Head to the abandoned Grey Warden Castle, as several formerly locked-off areas are now open.
When entering, turn right into the second courtyard and blow up the wall to reveal a new entrance with an explosive. In the first room, light three torches; this opens a door upstairs, leading you to the upper balcony of the castle. There, you will find a lever that opens up a secret stash somewhere in the castle.
Pull this lever now, and the main gate will open for easy access; enter the castle tunnels. Follow the ghost spawned from an interactable corpse to track three different locations around the castle.
When the ghost triggers the final area, use Tash's ability to clear an obstacle and continue onward. Setting off an explosive will show a ladder; grab the wisp above.
Head back to that gap near the skeleton, and the wisp will have unlocked the room with the last lever required to open the secret chest. Here, you'll find even more treasure and another unique item to complete your sets.
With Warden's Vault cleared you'll be prepared to face the final challenges of the castle.
