Guild Wars Reforged Guide | How to Defeat Glacial Griffon

In this guide, you follow a steady method for defeating the Glacial Griffon using positional setup, specific ranged tools, and repeatable skill usage. Everything here focuses on a consistent pattern you can apply each time you face this boss.

Equipment

You bring either a Flatbow or a Longbow, as the specific damage values do not affect the approach. A Poisonous Bow Grip can help if available. Your armor choice is open, so you equip any gear you prefer without impacting the core process.

Skills

Prepare the following three skills before starting the attempt: Favorable Winds, Hunter’s Shot, and Poison Tip Signet. If you do not have Poison Tip Signet, you may use Apply Poison in its place.

The Kill

When the quest begins, move up the hill to your right and set Favorable Winds beside the large pebble. After placing it, activate Poison Tip Signet and fire Hunter’s Shot at the Glacial Griffon. 

Once the shot lands, retreat and wait roughly ten seconds. You continue repeating this sequence—placing the spirit, applying poison, shooting, and withdrawing—until the griffon falls. The process may take time but maintains a controlled pattern that leads to a safe completion of the encounter.
