Guild Wars Reforged Guide | How to Play the Critical Perfection Assassin Build

The Critical Perfection setup centers on combining Way of Perfection, Critical Eye, and the Critical Strikes attribute with Ritualist weapon skills. You rely on frequent critical hits to maintain steady healing while keeping your pressure rotation active. 

This approach keeps you operating as a consistent damage source with limited dependence on external support.

Attributes and Skills

In this build, you allocate your points to support both dagger pressure and survival. You place 10(+1)(+2) into Dagger Mastery, 8(+2) into Shadowy Arts, 10 into Communing, and 8(+2) into Critical Strikes. 

Your skill bar includes Critical Eye, Brutal Weapon, Way of Perfection, Jagged Strike, Fox Fangs, Death Blossom, Shadow Refuge, and Flesh of My Flesh. 

Each piece functions toward enabling steady critical-chain attacks, maintaining personal recovery, and providing a basic ally resurrection option.

Equipment Setup

Your armor configuration uses a Bladed Mask, Valkyrie’s Guise, Valkyrie’s Gloves, Valkyrie’s Leggings, and Valkyrie’s Shoes. For runes, you apply Major Critical Strikes, Major Dagger Mastery, Major Shadowy Arts, Superior Vigor, and a Vitae Rune. 

For weapons, you switch between Vampiric Daggers of Fortitude with the inscription "Guided by Fate" and [Elemental] Daggers of Fortitude using the same inscription. The Vampiric set supports battlefield pressure and minor health gain, while the Elemental set allows you to avoid degeneration or exploit targets that are not resistant to particular damage types. 

Armor insignias that scale with enchantments or attacking conditions can be added to increase output.

Using the Build

When you enter combat, you activate Critical Eye, Brutal Weapon, and Way of Perfection to establish your core effects. During encounters, you sustain your chain with Jagged Strike, Fox Fangs, and Death Blossom, casting each again as soon as it becomes available. If your health drops, you shift to Shadow Refuge for recovery. 

You rely on Vampiric Daggers during engagements for extra pressure and slight healing, and you switch to your [Elemental] Daggers outside combat or when targeting enemies vulnerable to elemental sources. If an ally is defeated, you use Flesh of My Flesh to restore them. This setup positions you as a semi-independent damage dealer that maintains its own health through consistent critical hits.

Counters and Threats

This build is affected by certain hexes and stances. Hex effects like Empathy force you to stop attacking, and stances such as Balanced Stance reduce your ability to land critical hits. Enchantment removal also disrupts your sustain since your healing and bonuses depend on maintaining your enchantments.
