Fishing in Hades offers you a way to catch valuable resources while progressing through the underworld. This mechanic becomes available once you meet specific requirements and understand the spawning conditions for Fishing spots throughout your runs.

Equipment and Fishing Spots
To start Fishing, buy a Fishing Rod from the House Contractor. Fishing spots appear during escape attempts by Zagreus, indicated by a bell sound after defeating all enemies in a chamber.
Spot the brightest water or lava area, which marks the Fishing spot. Claim the room's reward first to access the place in Hades.
Special Fishing Locations
In addition to normal chamber spawns, there are places where you can fish. There are sometimes Fishing spots in Charon's shop, and there are always Fishing spots in rooms with Eurydice or Patroclus.

Fishing Spot Spawn Mechanics
There are different spawn rates and cooldown times for each area of the underground. Knowing how these things work helps you figure out how to fish during runs.
Tartarus offers the highest chance of encountering Fishing spots at 25%. After you use a Fishing spot in this area, you must clear 10 chambers before another spot can potentially spawn in Hades.
Asphodel, Elysium, and the Temple of Styx each offer you a 10% chance of Fishing spot spawns. Like Tartarus, these areas require you to clear 10 chambers between Fishing opportunities.
Chaos chambers present you with a 7% spawn chance, but the cooldown period is reduced to just 5 chambers, allowing for more frequent Fishing attempts if you regularly visit these special encounters.
Greece offers you a 20% spawn chance with no cooldown period between uses, making it one of the most reliable areas for consistent Fishing opportunities in Hades.

Fishing Strategy Tips
To maximize your Fishing opportunities, pay attention to the audio cues in each chamber after combat ends. The bell sound serves as your primary indicator that a Fishing spot has spawned.
Always claim room rewards before looking for Fishing spots, as the spots will not appear until you collect the chamber's primary reward in Hades.
Plan your route through areas based on their spawn rates if Fishing is a priority for your current run. Tartarus and Greece offer your best chances for encounters, while Chaos chambers provide quick turnaround times between Fishing opportunities despite their lower spawn rate in Hades.
