In Halloween: The Game, Michael Myers has two abilities that are always available to the player, along with three additional abilities that you can equip for each match.

Killer Sense

Killer Sense is one of Michael's two starting traits. Activating it switches Michael to a first-person view that improves his awareness of nearby targets and lets him focus on Civilians to build Stalk.

Stalk is an important part of Michael's gameplay, so use Killer Sense to locate targets and prepare an attack instead of rushing toward them.

Halloween: The Game Shape Jump

Shape Jump

Shape Jump allows Michael to move through the shadows while remaining hidden from Civilians. It also gives him access to movement options such as Shape Dash, allowing him to close the distance on targets.

Lighting is an important limitation. Michael needs darkness or an appropriate position outside a Civilian's line of sight to enter or exit Shape Jump.

This makes turning off lights and creating dark areas particularly useful when hunting Civilians.

Reality Tear

Reality Tear is a selectable ability that gives Michael greater control over Shape Jump. It can force Michael into or out of Shape Jump even when normal conditions would prevent him from doing so.

This makes Reality Tear particularly useful when Michael is trapped in a bad position or needs to escape a dangerous situation.

Blackout

Blackout temporarily disables powered equipment in an area, including lights and other powered objects. Because darkness is important to Shape Jump, Blackout can help Michael create an opportunity to approach Civilians without being seen.

Detection Pulse

Detection Pulse sends out a pulse that temporarily reveals nearby Civilians and occupied structures. Use it when you've lost track of the Civilian team or need information about where they're hiding. It is especially useful for preventing Civilians from safely disappearing into buildings.

Best Abilities for Beginners

If you're new to Michael Myers, Detection Pulse, Blackout, and Reality Tear make a straightforward starting loadout.

Detection Pulse helps you locate Civilians, Blackout creates darkness for your Shape Jump, and Reality Tear gives you an escape option when a normal Shape Jump isn't possible. This combination has also been recommended as a beginner-friendly Michael build.

Final Thoughts

Michael Myers' abilities are designed to work together: Killer Sense finds and stalks targets, Shape Jump lets you approach them, and your three selectable abilities help you control the encounter.

Don't treat Michael like a traditional chase-based killer. Use information, darkness, and positioning to make Civilians feel unsafe before committing to an attack.
