Marvel’s ever-so-trusty and dependable superhero, Captain America, is a jack of all trades hero in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

Although his character is primarily built around defense and control, he has a pretty strong tool set when it comes to having a strong damage output, allowing you to control crowds and take down bosses easily. This guide will explain how you can better utilize these abilities.

Attack and Movement

Captain America possesses a pretty reliable set of light attacks; they’re pretty easy to get used to, making them ideal, and they’re also potent when it comes to staggering enemies.

The charged attack is mostly defensive as the shield is used to block incoming hits, whilst also preparing for a counterattack. Making Captain America one of those characters who can hold ground without needing to fall back.

His movement isn’t flashy, but it is sturdy. You should aim to position yourself above or below enemies to avoid getting hit when setting up your shield throws.

Shield Throw and Control

Captain America's shield-throwing abilities are probably his best attack; they're strong and versatile. You’ll be able to toss it forward, where it would then hit multiple enemies and then automatically return, regardless of whether you are in an aerial position or fighting a random enemy on the ground — adding verticality to Captain's repertoire.

The shield also has no ammo limit, and it can be used as frequently as you would like.

Aerial Control

Although Captain America’s air attacks are as strong as those of flying heroes, they’re still reliable and effective for dealing with flying enemies from above.

Using jump attacks and combining them with shield throws provides you with consistent coverage, helping you take out enemies regardless of their presence in the air or on the ground.

Specials

Captain’s special move is a forward shield charge, which causes the shield to wipe around the enemies, hitting them a bunch of times before they are knocked out of the way. It’s partly useful when used against enemies that are grouped or when you need to create space after being swarmed by enemies.

The key feature of the ability is the fact that you are invincible during the animation; however, to best utilise it, you'll want to have good positioning, as enemies that aren’t in the particular radius or if they’re slightly behind won’t take some of the hits or be struck once.

Survivability

Hardiness and survivability tend to be Captain America's strongest traits. Captain Shield can block attacks from the front, allowing you to relieve pressure without constantly being on the move like most agility-based characters.

The shield mechanics, i-frames, and recovery make Captain America a fantastic pick, especially when it comes to endurance.

Passives

Captain America’s Passive Ability increases focus regeneration as well as boosts assist damage. The faster focus makes it so that you’ll be able to use your special abilities more often, and the stronger assists benefit overall team play.

Team Play

When it comes to team play, Captain America, just like any other ground-based superhero, benefits from an aerial-based teammate. Utilizing his shield makes it so that he can see his teammates up for assists.

Captain America is the pinnacle of endurance when it comes to superheroes. A well-rounded and reliable workhorse best utilised for control and teamwork. While not an attacking beast, his endurance and defensive prowess make him a force to be reckoned with in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
