Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Guide | All 9 Emily May Foundation Experiments

In this guide, I'm going to show you how to do and find all the EMF experiments—that's the Emily May Foundation experiments. 

Central Park: Energy EMF Experiment

For the very first one, you'll start by going to the location on the map above and heading to the Rooftop. Once you've unlocked these experiments by visiting the Emily May Foundation for the first time in the story, you'll see these markers around the map.

Open the terminal to get some information about the experiment. This one will lead you down into the park below. It will automatically put you back into Peter's normal form, and then you're going to take one of the bikes. Grab the Bike and pedal through 10 checkpoints. You just have to cycle along the path. It's not complicated—just follow the path for all 10 checkpoints.

When you get to checkpoint 5, there will be a timer until the battery explodes, so keep cycling and try not to crash into anything or anyone. The bicycle can be tricky to maneuver in tight spots because the reverse is janky. Once you reach the end, you should still have plenty of time left before the battery explodes. That's how you complete this experiment.

Central Park: Bee Drones EMF Experiment

The next experiment will also be conducted in Central Park, but don't confuse it with the Upper West Side. It's located right on the edge of Central Park. Once you arrive at this rooftop, activate the terminal. This experiment involves controlling a flying drone, just like at the Emily May Foundation.

Your task is to shoot 12 purple bees flying around in the sky. Interestingly, you can also shoot rats on the ground. Fly around and destroy 12 targets. Afterward, go to seven marked locations. These are areas you need to fly through. There are more than seven markers, so completing this should be easy. Once done, you'll have completed this EMF experiment.

Portside: Plant Science EMF Experiment

For the next experiment, head to Hell's Kitchen. On the rooftop at this location, you'll find the terminal. Activate it, and then take a sample of water from the rooftop. This opens up the gene splicing interface. Destroy the specified elements by aiming and shooting. Follow the prompts to delete specific nodes. Once complete, you'll be directed to a dock further ahead.

Swing to the dock, jump down, and use your webs to fish. Look for fish and press L1 and R1 to catch them. If one doesn't work, try catching another until you get a perfect specimen. Once you have it, return to the terminal. Begin the gene splicing process by matching elements based on their colors and connections. Complete this sequence, and the experiment is done.

Little Tokyo: Plant Science EMF Experiment

This experiment is in Chinatown. Look for a rooftop garden. Interact with the terminal to start. Use R3 to track plants. The first plant is nearby; pick it up with Triangle. The second is on the opposite side, and the third is on a wall. Collect them all, then return to the terminal.

Match the plants to their respective slots based on the visual cues. Once complete, prepare the garden. Water it with L1 and R1. Then fix the spray system by holding L2 and pressing R1 to stop leaks. Clear obstructions and patch the final leak to complete the experiment.

Two Bridges: Plant Science EMF Experiment

In the Financial District, find the rooftop terminal. Activate it to get a location. Swing to a rooftop greenhouse and interact with the plant. Follow the trail of yellow gas to locate the missing plant. You'll encounter enemies; defeat them and retrieve the plant. Swing back to the terminal and start the gene splicing process.

Match elements as instructed. During the process, enemies will attack. Defeat them, then return to complete the gene splicing. Follow the instructions to connect all elements correctly to finish the experiment.

Brooklyn Heights: Energy EMF Experiment

This experiment takes place in downtown Brooklyn. Find the rooftop terminal and activate it. You'll need to deploy turbines at a specific height using web wings. Use air tunnels to gain altitude. Deploy turbines by holding Square.

One turbine will malfunction. Go to the marked location, defeat the enemies, and use L1 and R1 to fix the turbine. Launch it back into the sky to complete the experiment.

Queens Apiary: Bee Drones EMF Experiment

In Little Odessa, find the rooftop terminal. Fly the drone and destroy 20 targets. You can shoot rats for extra targets. A bird will appear; switch to sonic mode by pressing Triangle and shoot it with R1. Follow the bird and shoot it as it moves. Eventually, it will fly into an enclosure. Shoot the wooden plank to trap it and complete the experiment.

Prospect Park: Bee Drones EMF Experiment

After the Little Odessa experiment, head to Downtown Brooklyn for the final one. On a rooftop, activate the terminal. Destroy 10 targets while flying. Then, mark nesting sites by flying through yellow beacons. Something will go wrong, and you'll need to locate the drone.

Follow the markers to find the drone. Connect to it and locate a warehouse with enemies and bee cages. Switch to sonic mode and free the bees by shooting the cages. The bees will scare off the enemies. Defeat the remaining enemies to complete the experiment.

How to Get the 'Foundational' Trophy

After completing all experiments, MJ will call to say there's a package from Norman Osborn. Go to the top right of the map to collect it. Investigate the package to receive a flower and a flash drive. Interact with the terminal to start the final gene splicing.

Match elements as instructed. Completing this unlocks a new suit and the Foundational trophy.
