Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Guide | How to Unlock Fast Travel

Marvel's Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac Games, is an immersive sequel that builds upon its predecessors, bringing the iconic heroes Peter Parker and Miles Morales back to the forefront. You swing through an expansive and dynamic New York City, battling villains and completing diverse missions that add depth to the gameplay. 

Even though it never gets tiring to traverse around the city, fast travel always helps to get things done quickly. Unlike most games, fast travel here is a bit unique and pretty interesting. And this guide explains how to unlock fast travel in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

When you open the map, you'll notice lots of objectives and collectibles spread across different areas. If you hover over an empty spot on the map, you'll see a "District Progress" indicator. Each area has specific milestones: the first one typically involves collecting two rare parts, and the second milestone is marked by a building icon with two green arrows. This second milestone unlocks fast travel.

You will access this once you have completed or collected approximately half of the goals and items in that area. After that, you can fast-travel by holding the Triangle Button on the map. You can do this anywhere on the map where fast travel is available.

When you use fast travel, the game does something cool—it starts you swinging right in the spot you chose, with barely any loading time. It's an impressive feature and one of the best implementations of fast travel I've seen in a game.
