Metaphor: ReFantazio | Follower Guide – Strohl

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out, and it's amazing the game inherits or otherwise builds on many mechanics from Persona and SMT. One such mechanic is the companion system, or as the game calls it, Followers. Followers are your natural companions, who you fight and spend time with, and who let you give some benefits for doing so. In this guide, you will get an overview of Leon Strohl.

Leon Strohl is unlocked fairly quickly, and he comes in a pair with Gallica. He comes with the Warrior Archetype and mostly provides bonuses relating to that. His first bond level is unlocked as a part of the main story.

Strohl Rank Progression

• Rank 1: You get the Warrior Archetype upon unlocking him on 06/06. 
• Rank 2: Do the following when prompted –
  • How do you know each other?
  • Let’s find a way to help them.
  • Let’s go to talk to him.T
  • hat’s what friends do.
• Rank 3: Make the following responses when prompted –
  • You have terrible phrasing.
  • No, we do this together.
• Rank 4: You have to obtain the gauntlet runner. Then, do the following responses when prompted –
  • It can make you rich.
  • Where is your hometown?
  • I can’t let you go alone.
• Rank 5: Complete ‘Apprehend the real Kidnapper’, then make the following responses when prompted –
  • I know I’ll see it someday.
  • It’s okay to be nervous.
  • Try to stay calm.No leads?
• Rank 6: You have to have Imagination level 3 and the quest ‘A Noble’s Legacy’ completed. Then, do the following responses when prompted –
  • Wise words to live by.
  • He was a man of virtue.
• Rank 7: Do the following responses when prompted – 
  • Something is off…
  • Stick to your ideals.
  • It was all you.
• Rank 8: Do the following responses when prompted –
  • You do.
  • Luck is its own type of skill.
  • It was probably intentional.
  • Surely, they believed in you.
  • You’ve honored them.

Strohl Rank Rewards

• Rank 1: As you unlock him, you get access to the Warrior Archetype
• Rank 2: He gets the abilities Warrior Enlightenment and Undaunted Spirit. Warrior Enlightenment reduces the MAG cost of studying the Warrior. Undaunted Spirit increases the critical rate when he attacks a human-type monster.
• Rank 3: Unlocks the Warrior Archetype: Adept, letting you use the Swordmaster.
• Rank 4: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Warriors to 2.
• Rank 5: Significantly reduces MAG cost for studying Warriors and increases the amount of experience he gains when in reserve.
• Rank 6: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Warriors to 3. Matches the amount of experience he gains when in reserve to the normal rate.
• Rank 7: Unlocks the Warrior Archetype: Elite, letting you use the Samurai.
• Rank 8: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Warriors to 4. Increases Strohl’s critical strike rate against human-type monsters. He also gains the ability to study their unique Royal Archetype once they become available.
