This guide explains how you can unlock, very possibly, the best armor currently in the game for spear builds, the Fallen Lord's armor.
Before you can find the Fallen Lords' armor, you need to progress far enough into the game to use the teleporter located in the designated area. Here's how to do that.
Accessing the Mission Areas
Once you can access the teleporter, the first mission that unlocks is called Palmeon Citadel. You are required to complete this mission by defeating the boss and unlocking the next area, which is a bonus area called the Silent Temple.
After completing these areas, head straight to Oxana and speak to her. She will inform you about the importance of completing a side quest for her, which will help you unlock the reforging aspect of your armor and weapons.
Collecting the Fallen Armor Scroll
While on your way, you will pick up an excellent armor set to collect the Fallen Armor Scroll. To do this, you jump into the mission and head off in the indicated direction.
Although there are a bunch of really annoying enemies who set up a fiery death trap with a group of archers at the start, you should either take them out if you need to or run past them, depending on which option you find easier.
Continue heading straight up in the indicated direction, making your way through the area with the witch's finest while trying to avoid arrows hitting you in the back or enemies running after you. Eventually, you will reach a staircase; continue going up and around.
Even though enemies will come down after the ladder, if you are just after the Fallen Lord Scroll, you should be able to pick it up without any problem.
Once you have it, head back and speak to your blacksmith. At that point, you will be set up and ready to craft this fantastic set, which boosts your spear's damage potential.
Crafting the Fallen Lord's Armor
Although the process seems straightforward, you need resources to complete the crafting. Most of these resources are very easy to get hold of, except for one: the golden epic material known as Fallen Lord's Claws. You will need one of these per piece of armor you craft, or for the spear itself.
Farming for Resources
Occasionally, these golden epic materials can drop off some of the more formidable enemies you encounter in the fields. However, they are very, very rare. If you want to farm these materials, travel back to the Ember Ruins region that you explored earlier in the game.
Then, proceed to the final stage, where you replay the boss—a boss you might remember as a bit of a nightmare at the start, depending on your gearing and progress. Upon defeating this boss, you can obtain the Fallen Lord's Claws (note that it may take several attempts before you see a drop).
Alternative Acquisition Methods
Another method you might consider, though you may need to verify this on your own, is to visit one of your vendors—specifically, Danjin, who sells quite a lot of really nice gear.
You may notice that Epic resources start turning up in his inventory as you progress through the main campaign storyline.
Once these resources become available from him, you should be able to purchase them with Lacrima, which will save you a lot of time and effort.
