A guide on how to beat General Berude in The Rogue Prince of Persia.

You face General Berude early in The Rogue Prince of Persia, and she blocks your progress through the main storyline. You encounter her in the Outer Ramparts after completing the Aqueduct, one of the two routes branching from Zagros Village.
Since the game follows a roguelite structure, this fight demands that you observe patterns and look for precise openings. You must defeat her twice to advance the quest involving Shahin, so understanding her behavior is important.

At the current stage of early access, the game includes only two boss encounters, and this one sets the tone for the challenge level.
Strategy Overview
The battle unfolds in two phases, and both play out in nearly the same way. During the second phase, her speed increases slightly and a section of the back wall breaks, giving you less vertical space. Regardless, the core strategy stays identical.
To win consistently, avoid rushing hits. Instead, wait for General Berude to complete her sequence of ground-pound attacks. After the final impact, two boulders fall. You can kick these rocks toward her to stun her for a brief period.
Begin by striking the closest one to lock her in place, then deal as much damage as possible before she recovers. When she starts preparing her next move, reposition to the opposite side and use the second boulder for another stun window.
Maintain this loop: jump or dodge, stun, attack, retreat. This cycle is the safest method to defeat her and also the intended way to unlock the hidden achievement With My Eyes Closed, which requires taking no damage during the encounter.

Once you defeat General Berude, you gain access to Berude’s Gauntlet, a tool that gives you a ground-slam option for crowd control. You can craft it at the Oasis so it becomes part of your future item pool.
Attack Patterns
Jump Stomp
She leaps off-screen and lands directly on your position. A cue appears on the ceiling, letting you know when to move. After landing, she releases projectiles across the ground in both directions. Jump or climb the wall to avoid them. At the end of the stomp, she pauses long enough for you to land a few hits.
Ground Pound
She jumps repeatedly and slams down in a chain of ground pounds. The final slam drops two boulders. You can strike her from behind during the jump, but retreat after one or two hits because the landing has wide coverage. The boulders she spawns here are the key to stunning her.
Charge
She runs straight across the arena while leaving spiked projectiles in her wake. Wall-climb and jump to avoid both her body and the trailing spikes. When she hits the far end of the screen, a boulder drops. Use it for another stun opening.

Projectile Waves
She lets out a roar and unleashes a series of projectiles from one side of the arena. Most stay low to the ground, but a few fly midair, so jump, climb, or crouch accordingly. When she completes this pattern, she slams her head down and becomes briefly vulnerable.
Phase Two
At 50% health, General Berude gains two temporary shields, preventing all damage for a moment. She also breaks a section of the back wall. Her moveset stays the same, but her pacing increases. Be especially aware of the projectile wave pattern, as it becomes faster and the density increases.
The fight remains manageable as long as you stick to the rhythm of movement, stun opportunities, and controlled attacks, following the same pattern of avoiding her sequences and using boulders to create safe openings.
