A guide on how to free Shahin in The Rogue Prince of Persia.
Game Guide by Groot on Nov 30, 2025
In The Rogue Prince of Persia, your progress through each run slowly uncovers story elements tied to the invasion of the Huns and the fate of the royal family. As you move through biomes and uncover information, you eventually learn that your brother, Shahin, has been captured.
The game uses repeated runs and discovery to reveal where he is held and how to release him. This guide explains how you locate every required clue, how the Mind Map functions, and the steps needed within a single run to free Shahin.

Understanding the Mind Map and Required Clues
The game includes a feature called the Mind Map, operating like a visual board where your discovered clues connect into a chain of events. Each new piece of information adds another link and helps you identify who was taken, where they were taken from, and where they currently are.
You do not need every clue to complete the rescue objective, but collecting them does fill the Mind Map. Some clues appear in any order, so the information you obtain might not unfold chronologically. The only requirement to reach Shahin is unlocking all biomes connected to his trail.
Below is a breakdown of every location where you find clues tied to the quest.
The Hun War Camp Clue
During your early run, climb through Zagros Village until you reach Azadeh, the village chief at the upper levels. Speaking with Azadeh unlocks access to the Hun War Camp, which you reach through the Oasis on your next attempt.
Inside the camp, continue exploring until you find a large table marked with an indicator. Read the note on the table to learn that someone from the Grand Academy was captured. This updates your map and unlocks the Grand Academy biome. While here, you can also locate an equipment chest that contains the Whirling Spear, a tier-A weapon.
The Grand Academy Clue
Enter the Grand Academy from Zagros Village. Search every golden-lit doorway until you reach a room filled with scrolls and documents. On one of the tables is a torn piece of fabric that belongs to Shahin. Interacting with it confirms his identity as the one who was captured. Finishing this biome leads you toward General Berude in the Outer Ramparts.

The Grand Academy can be risky early on, so entering with more maximum health helps you finish the area.
The Ruined Aqueduct Clue
On your next run, go to the Ruined Aqueduct rather than the Grand Academy. Move downward through the biome until you locate a deep shaft next to a red chain. Your objective here is only to remember this location, as it connects to a later part of the rescue process.
During exploration, you may also encounter the Prince’s mother in this biome, which adds another node to the Mind Map. Additionally, the Ruined Aqueduct contains a Blacksmith who allows you to upgrade weapons using gold.
The General Berude Clue
Clearing the Grand Academy eventually brings you to General Berude in the Outer Ramparts. Defeating General Berude reveals the exact location where Shahin is being held—inside the Tower of Oblivion. Her dialogue changes depending on how many times you have faced her and how many clues you collected beforehand.
The Tower of Oblivion Clue
Enter the Tower of Oblivion after defeating General Berude. The layout changes each run, but searching the lower-left pathways increases your chances of reaching Shahin. If you see a corridor filled with cell doors soon after using a Well of Dreams, continue through that route.
When you locate Shahin, speak with him to complete the current run. Above his cell is a platform with a doorway that leads to another table. A notebook on the desk explains that the only way to open his cell is by speaking with Azadeh.

Opening Shahin’s Cell Door
Freeing Shahin requires completing a sequence of actions within a single run:
Start a new run and talk to Azadeh in Zagros Village to obtain a lever.
Return to the shaft in the Ruined Aqueduct and insert the lever to release the water.
Proceed to defeat General Berude, then enter the Tower of Oblivion.
Reach Shahin again, climb to the platform above his cell, and pull the lever there to unlock all the doors.
After pulling the lever, speak with Shahin to complete the rescue. You may continue exploring the Tower of Oblivion for Spirit Glimmer, or return to the Oasis, where Shahin will appear beside your tent in future runs.
