The Rogue Prince of Persia Guide | How to Craft Weapons

A guide on how to craft weapons in The Rogue Prince Of Persia.

Crafting plays a central role in The Rogue Prince of Persia, taking cues from the system popularized in Dead Cells, the earlier release from Motion Twin. Since Evil Empire, the team behind the paid expansions of Dead Cells, leads this project, you will notice familiar design choices throughout the game.

One of these is the way weapons are crafted and unlocked, even though the total number of weapons is smaller. This guide explains how you unlock weapon blueprints, how Glimmer functions, and how crafting works inside the game loop.

Understanding Weapon Crafting

While progressing, you will encounter weapon blueprints scattered in different areas. These blueprints usually appear inside treasure chests and act as keys for unlocking new weapons.

Finding a blueprint is not enough on its own, as you must also obtain Glimmer, the material required in this system. Both weapons and Medallions depend on Glimmer, so gathering it becomes part of every run.

Once you collect a blueprint, its corresponding weapon will not be handed to you right away. Instead, it becomes part of the weapon pool. This means it can show up in your future attempts inside chests or shops, giving you access to a larger variety of options across each run.

How To Unlock Glimmer

You must meet two conditions before Glimmer appears in the world. First, you need to die at least once in your overall playtime. Second, you must clear the opening biome and reach the Ruined Aqueducts. Upon entering the Aqueducts for the first time, you will see a short sequence introducing the area.

After this sequence and once you pass the water fountain, Glimmer will be available. From that moment forward, Glimmer can be collected and used at Sukhra’s Forge in the Oasis, the location where you respawn after every death.

Crafting At Sukhra’s Forge

When you return to the Oasis, you can begin crafting by interacting either with Sukhra or the Anvil in the forge. All unlocked blueprints appear in the display rack next to the forge, allowing you to check your progress at any time. Spending Glimmer here will unlock weapons or Medallions, expanding the selection of items you can encounter in future playthroughs.

Ways To Get Glimmer

There are two sources of Glimmer. The first is enemy drops. When you defeat enemies, some of them may drop Glimmer, though the chances are random and not every opponent will provide it. The amount gained from combat is small, but it accumulates over repeated encounters.

The second way is through treasure chests, especially the ones located inside platforming puzzle rooms. These rooms tend to be the most consistent method for increasing your Glimmer supply, and running through as many of them as possible is the most reliable way to gather the material quickly.

Depositing Glimmer

Whenever you come across a purple Brazier, you should deposit your Glimmer immediately. Any Glimmer not stored in a Brazier is lost when you die. Depositing ensures that everything you have earned stays safe and can be used for crafting once you return to the Oasis.
