You will begin this section with a cut-scene. Your objective is to infiltrate the palace grounds, which involves a major combat encounter with specific threats.

Initial Approach and Ignoring Distant Enemies

The area after the cut-scene is initially limited; higher ledges become accessible later. Focus on finding the south-leading corridor. In the next area, you will see distant enemies, but ignore them.

They are chasing Grim and will be killed by him. Approach the tower where Grim is taking cover and listen to the conversation. When you then attempt to use a ladder, a major shootout will begin.

First Phase of Combat: Dynamite and Enemy Armor

The primary threat in this battle is enemy dynamite. Enemies will throw dynamite sticks at your position. When a stick lands near you, you must change your cover immediately. A direct dynamite explosion can kill Lara instantly.

Also, note that enemies wear head covers. This armor means a single arrow from your Bow may not kill them. During the fight, remember to collect ammunition from the environment and destroy explosive barrels for area damage.

Second Phase: Rope Bridge Assault

A cut-scene will play, showing enemies creating rope bridges. This initiates the second part of the battle. If you can, shoot the guards while they are sliding down the ropes; they are defenseless during this movement.

If an enemy lands on your platform, eliminate him quickly. You can use your Climbing Axe in melee combat, but a Shotgun is also effective. Continue fighting until all remaining enemies retreat.
