Nicolo Laurent, The CEO of League of Legends developer Riot Games, is currently facing a lawsuit after accusations of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and wrongful termination.
The Lawsuit was filed by former executive assistant Sharon O'Donnell, who was apparently on the receiving end of unwanted sexual advances and derogatory comments about her gender.
According to O'Donnell, Laurent would ask her to work from his home when his wife wasn't there and is quoted as asking her "If she could handle him when they were alone at his house".
O'Donnell's refusal of his advances reportedly lead to Laurent becoming hostile towards her and the ultimate termination of her position at the company.
Riot games strongly deny the allegations:
"The plaintiff was dismissed from the company over seven months ago based on multiple well-documented complaints from a variety of people. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false" - Riot Games Spokesperson
The spokesperson went on to say that the company's board of directors has enlisted an outside law firm to investigate the case, and they ensure the claim will be thoroughly investigated.
"we’re committed to ensuring that all claims are thoroughly explored and appropriately resolved."
This isn't the first time the company has been accused of such misconduct, either.
Riot Games faced another class-action lawsuit dealing with gender discrimination dating back to 2018. There's a possibility the victims may be entitled to $400 million following the claim.
