Two New Kits Have Been Released for The Sims 4
With such short notice, it would seem that there are two brand new kits available in The Sims 4.

Do you play The Sims 4? Are you a Fan of the 90's? Do you perhaps think your jeans could use a few more holes in them? Well, oh boy it would seem that there is now a perfect pack for you. Players of The Sims 4 can now add the newly released Grunge Revival Create-a-Sim kit to their game. Along with the kit, players will be able to acquire the Book Nook Build Mode kit, which will add a little slice of the library in your Sims' home.
However, while these two new kits add features that should've been present in the main game, they have been greatly appreciated by the community. However, it is also clear that the developer, Maxis, is moving their priorities from The Sims 4 over to 'Project Rene' or as it's now more commonly called, The Sims 5. With this new shift in focus, it is likely that we will not be receiving as many updates for the game.
One of the more surprising things about these two packs is their release times. These two packs were added shortly after both the Growing Together expansion pack and the free Infant Update that were added to the game on 16 March 2023. Also, considering how inconsequential these two kits are, it is likely that Growing Together is the last major expansion we will be getting for the game.
Nowadays, most of the DLC content we have been getting for The Sims 4 has been kits, which average around $4.99 and are usually exclusively CAS or Build Mode content and don't really add anything new to the game, especially in terms of gameplay. The last expansion that actually added new mechanics was Bust the Dust, which was released in March 2021.
Both of these new kits were made available for purchase on 1 June 2023, only two days after they were first announced. The first of the packs was Grunge Revival, this kit adds a large variety of alternative fashion from the mid-90's grunge era to the game's CAS. These new clothes and accessories work well for Sims that enjoy the alt life or rebellious teens that want to stick it to the man, or their parents. The second pack, Book Nook Build Mode kit, adds more clutter to decorate your Sim's home, if they're the bookish type.
These two kits, as stated earlier, are most likely the last of the content we are getting for The Sims 4 as Maxis and EA shifted their focus on the life-sim's next entry, The Sims 5. We most likely don't have to wait too long, in the meantime we can at least make a cozy library for our Sims while they jam out to some Soundgarden.
