Fortnite is no stranger to odd collaborations, from Spiderman to Attack on Titan, the battle royale game is already packed full of characters from numerous iconic franchises and it would seem that the game will be adding two more iconic characters to its already impressive roster, this time the characters are Yennefer and Ciri from the Witcher 3.
As stated earlier, Fortnite is no stranger to collaborations and has teamed up with multiple IPs. Heck, even musical artists have been added to the game such as Ariana Grande and Marshmallow. Its recent collaboration was with the brand Nike, where players would experience Nike-themed gameplay in its Airphoria event.
Rumors of a collaboration between Fortnite and the Witcher 3 have been circulating around the internet for quite some time now, and the game already added the White Wolf himself, Geralt of Rivia, earlier this year back in February, so it should come as no surprise that two of the game series iconic female characters would be added to the game. The Witcher collaboration will be titled "A Tale of Two Tempests," and will bring Ciri and Yennefer from The Witcher 3 to the battle royale title.
The characters will also be receiving new skins and each will have their own unique character-themed items that will come with their bundle. Ciri's bundle will include her sword, Zireael, which can be used as both a Harvesting Tool and be just as aesthetic Back Bling, along with a Basilisk Glider. Yennefer's bundle will include her own themed set, which will include her Megascope Harvesting Tool, a Bird Skull Back Bling, and the Black Wings Emote.
Both of these character sets will become available for all players on 23 June 2023, at 7 AM ET. It's best to snag these items while you can because as of writing, Fortnite has yet to specify for how long these items will be in the Item Shop. It would also seem that the reason we are getting another Witcher 3 collaboration after Geralt is likely because the event is being used as a form of promotion for the upcoming next season of The Witcher TV series, which is scheduled to air the first part of the series on 29 June 2023.
Considering how popular the Witcher IP currently is, it's no surprise we are getting another collaboration. However, we will have to see how will this Promotional attempt will work, especially considering the backlash the show received after it was revealed that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Geralt of Rivia. For now, we will have to wait and see.
