With its long-awaited release, Black Myth: Wukong is already breaking records, with more players than ever. The previous record holder, Elden Ring, established 2.5 years ago, has already broken. Having said that, Black Myth: Wukong is now the most popular game on Steam due to its recent controversy, which has taken over the headlines lately. There's been a lot of back-and-forth about actual gamers and the so-called modern-day influencers. Those hoping for Black Myth: Wukong's failure would be sorely disappointed by its current in-game currency count of over 1.4 million.

Black Myth: Wukong, Breaking Steam Record, Steam Chart

Despite receiving unfavorable feedback from some influencers and media sites, Black Myth: Wukong surpassed Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 in terms of player count within hours, reaching over 1.4 million. Currently, it ranks as Steam's sixth most-played game of all time. It was only sitting behind Dota 2 and ahead of Elden Ring at that time. It is unbelievable to consider that Elden Ring only had 952,000.

The controversy started when Black Myth: Wukong's marketing team distributed the game copy to some press outlets and streamers. They specified that they should avoid insulting anybody or other players in their coverage and refrain from using any language or humor that may be considered objectionable. This includes avoiding politics, violence, nudity, feminist propaganda, fetishization, and a few other sensitive issues.

Nothing appears to be able to stop Black Myth: Wukong from breaking records; it has now surpassed Dota 2 to become Steam's all-time peak game. Compared to Black Myth: Wukong, which is presently topping the Steam Chart, titles that were lauded by certain influencers have a poor amount of users. Take a look at some of the stats that completely shatter this woke ideology in gaming: Concord with 1116, Saints Row with 145, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with 207, Immortals of Aveum with 17, Forspoken with 26, and the list goes on and on.

We've played and reviewed the game and think Black Myth: Wukong is a fantastic action RPG. If you enjoy tense action and confrontations with bosses, then this is the game you should absolutely check out.
