The Iron-Tough armor is a really good armor set with a set bonus that buffs Rock Solid skills, and the Ebon Flow spell lets you use Yin Tiger’s move set freely.

To unlock both of these items, you need to first unlock the secret player hub in chapter 3 and then speak to Yin Tiger, who will be found there. He is the blacksmith NPC of this game. He also introduces a new mechanic: upgrade armor, not just craft items.

This can be extremely useful as it improves rarity and defenses, and the first couple of levels are inexpensive at that stage. However, you can also choose to challenge him, which is exactly how you get that new transformation and legendary armor set.

This will be a tough boss fight, but it is super fun, too. If you manage to best him in combat, the first thing he’s going to do is give you his spell, the Ebon Flow. This also unlocks an entirely new transformation with the same moveset and look as the Yin Tiger—you transform into him.

As you hit enemies with light attacks, you also get to charge up the fire on the sword. Once that gauge is fully maxed out, you can perform the same devastating long-range heavy attack he used in the fight against you. The form moves rather slowly but is really strong, so it is worth the hassle. It’s decently tanky, and the damage to it is really good, without even investing many points in it.

Beyond this, you also get the Iron-Tough Armor, which buffs the Rock Solid skills. It’s of legendary quality, so it's one of the first you can get—or maybe the second. The two-set bonus powers up the Nick of Time mechanic even more on the Rock Solid, giving you more focus when deflecting with Rock Solid so that you can use summons a lot more often.

The four-set bonus reduces the cooldown, letting you spam the ability even more often. Plus, the gauntlets also provide a damage bonus on the first hit following that deflect, which already gets boosted if you have unlocked the Upper Hand perk, so you get both benefits at the same time.
