6v6 Arena Shooter Tom Clancy's XDefiant Announced

Ubisoft is publishing a new F2P FPS called Tom Clancy's XDefiant. No release date has been provided but it'll include characters from the Tom Clancy franchise.

The title was teased yesterday by both Ubisoft and IGN, who provided a short gameplay trailer. The title resembles that of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 with classes and abilities. Players will take the role of a character within a faction but will not be limited to certain weapons and combinations.

A testing period is a test for August 5th for PC in the US and Canada. It's a bit strange that Ubisoft is working on a new F2P FPS considering they already have Hyper Scape but it seems due to the dramatic drop in player count Ubisoft may be trying to distance itself from that project and try something new.
