Before attending the Tea Ceremony, you must complete 'The Perfect Gift' mission, where you need to learn the etiquette and choose one of the three gifts to gift to the master in the Tea Ceremony in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Learning The Etiquette

After starting the mission, you'll be introduced to Sen no Rikyu, who'll teach you the art of the tea ceremony. Choose the bow halfway option, meaning everyone attending the tea ceremony is equal.

Choosing The Right Gift

After you have learned the traditions from Sen no Rikyu, you need to pick a gift for the tea ceremony in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Although gifting the tea master the Teapot makes him happy, choosing the Jar, Ladle, or Teapot won't significantly impact the game. You'll just have different cutscenes when you pick either of them.
