Capcom announced that the acclaimed Onimusha series is making a comeback with Onimusha: Warlords for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

This isn't a new game but a remake of the 2001 PS2 game that starred samurai Samanosuke and ninja Kade as they attempt to rescue a princess named Yuki from an army of demons.

Onimusha: Warlords will include:

HD Graphics – The entire game has been updated with improved visuals.

Widescreen Support, New Display Options – Both the original game’s display (4:3) and more standard widescreen display (16:9) are supported. Display settings can be changed between 4:3 and 16:9 at any time in-game.

Easy Mode Available From Start – Easy Mode is unlocked for players from the start of gameplay, which wasn’t available in the original game.

Analog Stick Support – In addition to the controls from the original, this new release allows players to move using analog sticks. For those who played the original this is a welcomed addition.

New Soundtrack – Both the soundtrack and voices have been re-recorded for the remaster.

We’re excited to bring Onimusha: Warlords to PS4 after the series’ popularity on PS2, so sharpen those swords and be prepared to set foot in a land of samurai and demons. There’s also a new soundtrack inspired by feudal Japan that enhances the immersion even further.

Onimusha: Warlords will launch on January 15, 2019.
