The upcoming high-powered action role-playing Atlas Fallen by Focus Entertainment and Deck13 Interactive has set another milestone for its May 16 release. The new Atlas Fallen gameplay trailer has been revealed by the publisher; while it might have been short but we all have high hopes and expectations for the prospective Deck13 release. After Lords of the fallen and The Surge 1 & 2, Deck13 has raised the bar considerably for themselves. But we’ll see how Atlas Fallen does when it releases on 16 May 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Based on what we could see, Atlas Fallen gives off a feel of Bloodborne, Darksiders and some Legend of Zelda all mixed together in one big sandy pot while staying true to their fast-paced Third-Person roots. But it looks like they’re going full throttle with this one, according to Deck13 founder and creative director Jan Kose – “We wanted to keep some things (from previous games), like the fast pacing and the action, and we even wanted to increase it”
According to the developer diary, they wanted to keep the fast-paced gameplay style from previous releases like The Surge 1 & 2 but speed things up even more while adding more on with an interesting twist. In Atlas Fallen, the world seems to be driven by sand and sand magic alike, but it’s also ruled by gods. While most people have accepted the new way of life under the gods, there are those that yearn for a better life. This is where you, as the player, come in to take them down and free the world.
As mentioned in the developer diary. You’ll have loads of customizability in terms of character creation. Where the real fun awaits is with abilities; through the use of ‘Essence Stones’, these can be switched around and changed to your liking to suit your needs or to even the odds against your opponents. Maybe you’re not just making a warrior to challenge the gods, but instead becoming a god.
The reveal trailer has only left us sitting on the edge of our seats, wanting to experience Atlas Fallen more than ever. With a rich and vibrant world waiting to be explored, builds to try out and gods to defeat, Deck13 might take the top achievement for the Third-Person Adventure genre.
