Bungie Clarifies Confusion Over Destiny 2 Crucible Ranks
What does the new Crucible ranking system mean for Destiny 2?
News by Grayshadow on Apr 27, 2018
Recently, Bungie released a whole lot of new information regarding the upcoming second expansion for Destiny 2 called Warmind. With it comes a brand new Crucible ranking system that left many players confused. Bungie has decided to clarify the confusion in their weekly blog.
First, there are two separate Crucible ranking systems, called Valor and Glory, and 6 tiers, called Brave, Heroic, Fabled, Mythic, and finally Legend. Valor is earned by playing matches in the Quickplay, Mayhem, and Rumble playlists and is determined how long players spent in the Crucible for that Season. Points are gained without any loss, and once a cap is reached, Valor can be reset to start over again while also unlocking special rewards.
Glory can be earned and lost in the competitive playlist. This is based on skill so winning earns you points and losing has them taken away. Winning consecutive games yields more points and losing streaks will cause you to lose more.
Logging into competitive will net players Glory each week but only if they're Fabled or below. Mythic or Legend will require a minimum of 3 matches per week to prevent losing a rank. Similar to Overwatch's Grandmaster and Top 500 rank players will have to keep playing to maintain their rank.
Each rank will yield rewards such as armor ornaments, emblems, Masterwork Cores, Engrams, and more with exclusive legendary weapons awarded to the 1/3 highest Fable rank.
Destiny 2: Warmind releases on May 8, 2018, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
