Century: Age of Ashes is a Free-to-Play multiplayer game in which two teams of dragon-mounted warriors battle for aerial superiority. Century: Age of Ashes was released on PC in December 2021 and is now available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

There are currently three game modes and battles in Century: Age of Ashes are fought between two teams of either 3v3 or 6v6. In Spoils of War, the teams compete to gather as much gold as possible, either from creatures around the battlefield, or by stealing the treasure from the enemy team's nest; in Gates of Fire the two teams are tasked with capturing and maintaining possession of a flag, and in Carnage two teams of six must battle it out in a good old fashioned game of Team Deathmatch.

As of writing, there are four classes of warrior/dragon to choose from in Century: Age of Ashes. They are the Skeldian Wingard, Naerdor Phantoms, Svard Marauders, and the Stormraisers.

The Skeldian Winguard and their Ironwing mounts are Century: Age of Ashes' Support Class. Using their Salvation Surge ability, they can dash toward an ally and provide them with shields, health, and reduced cooldowns. They are the "backbone of the Skeld army... [and will] defend their allies at all costs."

The Naerdor Phantom "ride mysterious spiked beasts" called Nightsnaggers and specialize in stealth. Using their Mystic Shroud ability, Phantoms can cloak themselves and fly right by foes undetected. They are "able to escape or cause death at any time."

The Svard Marauders are "skilled poachers and ruthless bounty hunters" who, with their Bloodchasers, can track enemies across the map with their Hunter's Mark ability, and "they never give up on their prey."

While their numbers may be dwindling, the Stormraisers' "mastery of the storm grants them the strength of hundreds." The first character released post-launch, the Stormraisers ride dragons called Stonesnouts and with their Chain Lightning ability will throw an axe at their enemy which, on contact, will block the enemy's stamina from regenerating and will also chain a lighting attack to any nearby foes.

While there are in-game purchases and a focus on customization, according to Playwing these are cosmetic-only and will have no effect on gameplay.

Century: Age of Ashes is out now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
