David Cage Claims Star Wars Eclipse Won't Just Be Detroit: Become Human
According to David Cage, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse will not just be Detroit: Become Human again.

Quantic Dream has been working on its Star Wars game for some time now, and according to the somewhat infamous head of the company, David Cage, Star Wars Eclipse will be nothing like Detroit: Become Human. However, judging by what the company has produced in the past, it should be safe to assume that it will be a strong narrative-oriented game.
Cage elaborated on why Star Wars Eclipse and Detroit: Become Human will be different by stating that with Detroit, they “spent a lot of time trying to imagine our world 10, 15, 20 years from now – what would the technology be like? Do we believe that androids would be part of our societies?” He then explained, somewhat funnily, that Star Wars “is a very different setting – it's far, far away, as you know. So, it's something different."
David Cage revealed this in a conversation with IGN Japan, in which he detailed how Star Wars Eclipse will be the company’s most ambitious game yet and that: “Star Wars is not going to be a skin of Detroit. The two games will be very different, very different, although we will also of course use what we learned. But it's not going to be a copycat by any means; it's going to be a very different experience.”
This does not give us any additional information about the game that was revealed back in December 2021 via a suitably Quantic Dream-style cinematic trailer. Star Wars Eclipse will be set during the time of the High Republic, which takes place thousands of years before the mainline films, and, judging by the trailer, it will be absolutely gorgeous. However, that is what Quantic Dream tends to be known for.
Hopefully, Quantic Dream is able to create something very different, as Cage claims, as all of its games have effectively been the same kind of game in different forms. It should be interesting to see what they reveal over the coming months.
