Hope for GTA 6 may be making a comeback after months of frustration and missed predictions. Following a wave of speculation surrounding pre-orders, investor calls, and rumored announcements that never materialized, many fans had started tuning out theories about when Rockstar would reveal more of the game.

Now, however, a new piece of information tied to GTA Online has given players a fresh reason to pay attention. While nothing has been officially announced regarding Trailer 3, Rockstar’s own scheduling decisions have sparked a new round of discussion.

GTA 6, Trailer 3, Hopes, Rockstar, Schedule Shifts

The latest focus centers on Rockstar’s confirmation that the current GTA Plus membership period will end on July 13.

On its own, that detail may not seem important, but longtime players quickly noticed something unusual. If the current cycle ends on a Monday, the next one would begin on Tuesday, July 14. That stands out because GTA Plus months typically begin on Thursdays, making this schedule change difficult to ignore.

Looking back at Rockstar’s history, similar shifts have usually happened when major GTA Online DLC updates were about to launch. Because of that pattern, many fans believe July 14 could mark the release of what may be the final major GTA Online update before GTA 6 arrives. The timing has raised another question as well.

When it comes to predicting Rockstar’s plans, unusual changes often attract more attention than leaks. A delayed summer update could simply be the result of development scheduling, but some players believe there may be a larger reason behind it. The obvious candidate is GTA 6. Rockstar previously stated that the game’s marketing campaign would begin during the summer, and that window is now almost here.

With summer starting soon, many fans believe Rockstar’s marketing plans should begin taking shape. If the GTA Online DLC launches on July 14, there are two likely possibilities. Trailer 3 could arrive before the update, helping build excitement and bringing positive attention back to the community. The alternative is that Rockstar releases the DLC first and follows it with a trailer shortly afterward.

Another piece of speculation that continues to circulate involves the FIFA World Cup. Rumors have suggested for some time that Rockstar may use the event as part of GTA 6’s marketing campaign. Given the global audience that follows the tournament, the idea is not difficult to understand. Advertising during one of the biggest sporting events in the world would give Rockstar a massive platform for promoting the game.

If that plan is in place, Rockstar would likely want Trailer 3 available before any larger marketing efforts begin.

Fans have pointed out that this timeline could line up with the delayed GTA Online update. A trailer released in late June or early July would provide enough time for excitement to build before additional promotions appear elsewhere. It would also fit neatly into the company’s broader summer marketing plans.

Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar, Trailer 3

Some players are also looking at Take-Two’s upcoming earnings call as another possible factor. There is a belief that Rockstar could release the GTA Online update in mid-July and then follow it with Trailer 3 one or two weeks later. That would place a major GTA 6 announcement shortly before an important business presentation.

Of course, summer lasts several months, and Rockstar never promised marketing would begin the moment the season started. That detail is important because expectations have burned fans before. The main reason attention has shifted toward June and July is the unusual GTA Online schedule.

For those expecting Trailer 3 before the DLC, the calendar starts narrowing quickly. Rockstar would likely need to reveal the GTA Online update itself before launching any new GTA 6 trailer. That could push certain weeks off the table and leave only a handful of realistic windows. As a result, many fans are now focusing on late June and the opening days of July.

One theory places Trailer 3 around June 30, giving it a few weeks to dominate conversations before the GTA Online update arrives. Others believe the week before could also be a possibility, although expectations remain cautious. Rockstar has a habit of moving on its own schedule, making any prediction difficult.

There is also growing discussion about how Rockstar handled previous releases.

There are players who think the same could happen with GTA 6 as well, as pre-orders for both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 had gone live on Mondays. If Rockstar plans to open pre-orders alongside Trailer 3, a Monday release would make sense. While there is no evidence confirming that approach, it remains one of the more popular theories.

GTA 6, Discussion, Rockstar

The overall timeline has enough logic behind it to keep people interested. Rockstar could release Trailer 3, allow fans time to analyze every detail, and then shift attention toward GTA Online’s final major update. That sequence would likely generate excitement for both projects. It could also encourage former players to return to GTA Online for one final season before GTA 6 becomes the main focus.

Some fans have even pointed to Rockstar’s own history for support. Back in 2023, the first GTA 6 trailer arrived shortly before a GTA Online winter update. There was a flurry of activity around the update; many players who saw the trailer came back to the game. A similar strategy today would not be surprising.

There is also the possibility that Rockstar uses the upcoming DLC to tease GTA 6 directly. GTA Online players have always loved uncovering hidden clues, Easter eggs, and secret references scattered throughout the game. Massive hype could come from just a few little hints that lead to Vice City or where GTA 6 is going to be

For now, nothing has been officially confirmed beyond Rockstar’s scheduling changes. Still, after months of disappointment, fans finally have something concrete to examine. Whether Trailer 3 arrives before the July update or shortly after it, the summer window is approaching quickly. If Rockstar sticks to its stated plans, the next phase of GTA 6 marketing may not be far away.
