The Red Light District Raid is a fun multiplayer game mode added in the director's cut version of the game.
This mode is like a classic gauntlet, where you can test your skills and see how far you can go in intense, wave-based combat. Each raid has fifteen to twenty unique stages full of enemies.
Be warned, this mode contains major spoilers, including later-game maps and story characters, so it is not recommended for new players who have not finished the main plot.
You have a huge selection of over sixty characters to choose from as you battle through hordes of enemies in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.

Selecting Your Character
When you start the mode, you are given a starting budget of one hundred million yen to purchase and unlock your fighters. Which character you pick depends on your playstyle and what stats you want to use in battle.
If you want to tank damage instead of dodging it, pick a character with a huge health bar. If you want to be fast and dodge attacks, then choose a character with high speed stats (fist with a flame icon). If you want to hit hard with every attack, pick a character with a biceps icon.
Some characters are naturally stronger in the current metagame (eg. Shibusawa). No matter who you pick, you can always upgrade your fighters by pressing the level-up button on the character select screen.
To 100% this game mode you have to do nothing more than unlock every one of the sixty characters, level them all up to five, and complete every raid available.
Solo Play and Helpers
The best way to go about solo play is to concentrate on a single character and level them up fully, this will allow you to get the most amount of cash rewards from completed runs, which you can use to buy the rest of the characters on the roster.
Buying more characters automatically unlocks AI Helpers to assist you during your solo runs. These companions grow stronger and more competent with every ten characters you add to your roster in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.
Your helpers will collectively gain levels based on the total size of your unlocked roster. They reach level two once you own ten characters, level three at thirty characters, and level four at sixty characters.
To push your helpers to their maximum level of five, you must choose and play as all sixty characters at least once, though you do not need to actually finish the missions to get credit.

Combat Strategies and Rage Mechanics
Survival in these stages requires you to use your Red Light Rage meter as often as possible. Saving this powerful mechanic for later is rarely worth it. Activating your rage grants you a massive boost to your attack power, makes you highly resistant to stagger or knockdowns, and prevents you from being knocked out entirely.
Your health bar will still drain if you take hits while your rage is active, so the best approach is to trigger the meter and immediately unleash your strongest combos on the toughest enemy in the area.
You must also keep a close eye on the battlefield for helpful item drops. Yellow boxes contain energy drinks that patch up your health, while red jars contain special herbs that instantly fill your rage gauge to maximum.
Your AI companions can pick up these items just like you can, so you must grab them quickly or coordinate with your teammates in multiplayer to ensure the supplies go to the fighters who need them most.
Every player operates on an individual countdown timer, meaning you cannot afford to waste time during a stage. To keep your timer high, prioritize taking out ranged enemies first, such as gunners or thugs with throwing weapons.
These enemies usually have very low health but will constantly disrupt your combos from a distance if left alone.
Once the ranged threats are gone, beat up the weaker grunts to build your rage meter, trigger your power boost, and immediately target the heavy enemies marked by purple auras to eliminate them before your time runs out in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.
Finally, protect your squadmates; any ally who loses all their health or runs out of time is permanently removed from the mission, so let your lowest-health companions grab the energy drinks to keep your team whole.
