Nintendo Announces The End Of Club Nintendo
The Nintendo reward program, Club Nintendo, will end this year with a new program taking its place

For years now Club Nintendo has been offering special rewards for those who buy and register new Nintendo products on their site. Today Nintendo announced that the program is ending, but do not worry, Nintendo stated that Club Nintendo is ending so a new program can take its place.
The official notice was posted by Nintendo on the company’s home website in Japan, Europe and Australia. The U.S. Nintendo site is currently offline for maintenance.
Unfortunately your coins will not transfer to the new program and any unused coins will expire when the program ends. The new reward system remains a mystery but as of March 31 Nintendo will prevent any new Club Nintendo accounts from being made. As an added gift Nintendo is offering Flipnote Studio 3D for free in February for all Club Nintendo account holders.
For nearly six years the Club Nintendo program offered fans Nintendo-themed rewards for registering new Nintendo video game products and completing surveys. In exchange users would be able to earn coins and redeem them for posters, character figures, special swag, and downloadable games. Those who reached a certain status, either Gold or Platinum, would earn an extra reward for that year for free.
With Club Nintendo ending what does Nintendo have planned for the future? Hopefully we'll learn more in the coming months or maybe E3 2015.
