The universe of No Man's Sky is said to be so massive that you won't encounter that it's doubtful you'll encounter another player. However if you do don't expect them to be from a foreign platform, PS4 and PC versions of the game will run on separate servers.
On the No Man's Sky Reddit CEO and founder of Hello Games went on to explain some details about the game that fans have been ruthlessly asking. With No Man's Sky's release hours away Sean Murray let go of some of these secrets, including that PC and PS4 servers.
"PS4 and PC players are using two different servers. We are running a control experiment to see who names things the most juvenile things... Let the games begin!"
This means that the two games won't share the same server and could have unique planets and landmarks. The PC version of the game won't launch until Friday, August 12th so we won't be able to test this out until then.
No Man's Sky launches on PS4 August 9th in the US, August 10th for the PS4 in the UK, and August 12th for PC.
