Star Wars Jedi 3 is Reportedly Getting Ready for a Reveal as New Marketing Details Surface

Star Wars Jedi 3 remains one of the most anticipated upcoming Star Wars games, and a new rumor points to an announcement in the near future. The latest report has also fueled speculation that the game could finally be revealed before the end of the year.

The next game in Respawn Entertainment’s Jedi series has been discussed several times throughout 2026, with previous reports and speculation indicating that development has been moving forward. Now, another source claims that marketing for the third game could begin soon.

Seeing Jedi 3 in the near future makes sense considering the development timeline of the previous games. 

The sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released less than four years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, giving Respawn a short time to develop the game. If the third game is on a similar schedule, there’s a chance for a 2027 release based on the timeline discussed in the latest report, which isn’t entirely out of the question.

The newest information comes from an account that many people may not immediately recognize. The source was reportedly unfamiliar to the person discussing the rumor before some background research, but the account has apparently provided accurate Star Wars-related information in the past. 

According to the report, marketing for Star Wars Jedi 3 could begin soon. The source reportedly responded to a question about why the third game hadn't already been revealed by saying that marketing was coming soon, while also noting that it had been some time since they had looked into the project. 

One possibility being discussed is the Game Awards.

The event has become a major showcase for game announcements and trailers, and the timing would make sense if marketing for Jedi 3 is expected to start toward the end of the year. If the reported information was accurate when it was first shared several months ago, an announcement around December could potentially line up with The Game Awards.

That does not confirm that Jedi 3 will appear at the event, though. Plans for major showcases can change, and games that are expected to appear at events can sometimes be delayed. For now, EA or Respawn has not officially announced when they will show the next Jedi game.

The development timeline is one of the main reasons a 2027 release keeps coming up. Fallen Order came out in 2019, and Survivor in 2023, so there’s been about three and a half years between the two games. If Respawn sticks to the same development schedule as the last title, then the next game could be out sometime in 2027.

Changes at the studio have also raised questions about the project. After working on the series, Stig Asmussen, the director of both Fallen Order and Survivor, left Respawn. This is a big change for the team behind the first two, but his departure doesn’t necessarily mean development of the third installment has been delayed.

While this next Jedi game was expected to pick up where the first two left off, no information on the story line or gameplay has been released. Respawn has not shown the project publicly, and the studio has not given a release date or confirmed when fans will see the game. So a lot of the discussion currently is based on hearsay and what people think the time scales will be rather than official information.

The same source also talked about other Star Wars projects like Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Eclipse.

The report also speculates that there may be other big Star Wars releases in 2027, but those reports are far less certain. The rumor itself is particularly intriguing for the potential of multiple Star Wars games coming or being announced around the same time, but each project has its own development history.

In particular, Knights of the Old Republic has been in flux for years with behind-the-scenes changes happening. Apparently, the project would have to be re-revealed before any potential release window becomes clearer. For fans of Respawn’s Jedi series, an announcement would finally answer some of the biggest questions surrounding the franchise’s future. 

Survivor left plenty of room for another chapter, and many fans expect the next game to continue the story. However, until Respawn or EA officially reveals the project, they have not confirmed any information about its release date, announcement plans, or specific gameplay features.

A 2027 release would also give Respawn enough time to continue building on the systems introduced in Survivor while potentially taking the series in a new direction. The previous game expanded the environments, combat options, exploration, and customization compared with Fallen Order, so expectations for the third installment are already high.

For now, the most immediate possibility is simply that we could finally see the game. If marketing really is about to begin, an announcement later this year would fit the timeline suggested by the latest rumor.
