Released in 2020, four years after the 2013 original, The Last of Us Part II continued the eerie tale. The following year, in 2024, a PlayStation 5 remake arrived with tons of new features, including commentary, improved graphics, a speedrun mode, and more. April is going to be a monumental month for The Last of US fans, destined to cement 2025 as a year to remember. Also, on April 3, PC owners will be able to get their hands on The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
Naughty Dog has officially announced that new content is coming to The Last of Us Part II while they kept quiet about the development of The Last of Us Part III. They mention that there is new, non-returnable content and that the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be out next month. In addition, they mentioned that a plethora of new content for our beloved no-return option will be available at the launch of The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC.
The mode is getting two new characters, Bill and Marlene, from The Last of Us Part 1. Each of these no-return fighters has its own distinct play style, so fans old and new will have plenty of opportunities to show what they're made of.
Playing as Bill, a smuggler, grants access to a special pump shotgun through dead drops and double benefits from drops overall. Although he lacks dodge ability, he is more resilient to melee strikes. A unique assault weapon, all-or-nothing gambits that can reroute her no-return path once every run and more are all part of Marlene's risk-taking play style.
Beyond that, they have also revealed four new maps—Overlook, Nest, Streets, and School—for the no-return option in The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The new no-return content, along with new trophies and further bug patches, will be available as a free download, patch 2.0, on the same day as the PC launch. This is good news for PlayStation 5 gamers.
Last but not least, they said that the PC Remaster of Part II will be compatible with PlayStation overlays and trophies, as well as an optional PlayStation Network login account. Although it is not mandatory, PC users who log into their PlayStation Network account will receive 50 in-game points to use for bonus features.
Additionally, they will have access to a new Ellie skin featuring Jordan's jacket from our upcoming PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. They also provided a preview of the jacket's appearance on Ellie and explained that PS5 players will also be able to unlock the skin through in-game bonus points and the 2.0 patch.
Naughty Dog is apparently going all out with The Last of Us Part II on PC, and PS5 owners will also be getting all this extra stuff, which is really awesome. At last, before we go any further, it is fascinating that additional content is being added to The Last of Us Part II Remastered, No Return Mode, with the announcement of new maps, the Limited Edition controller, and new characters. And this may become even better if all this was originally intended for the canceled multiplayer The Last of Us game.
