Sony might unveil the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLC during the PS5 Pro event.

PlayStation has been preparing something significant for October 2024, as previously disclosed by several sources. This is because Sony wants to finish the year on a high note, especially in the unpredictable year 2025. After all, no major first-party titles have been announced yet. Moreover, a rumor is that Sony will release the PS5 Pro this year as part of a mid-gen upgrade. Because of how well-known it is, rumor has it that developers addressed it openly at Gamescom, along with the effects on their game release schedules.
Now the only question is when, and most people think we've answered it with Sony's appearance at the Tokyo Game Show in September. At a special event in 2016, Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 Pro and showcased Marvel's Spider-Man, developed by Insomniac Games, which would become the company's best-selling system title. They showcased what's to come with the PlayStation 5 in 2020, after the PS4 Pro, and showed off Spider-Man Miles Morales, the launch game, as part of the demonstration. This suggests a similar showcase for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLC during the PS5 Pro showcase.
Another leak has surfaced showing what seems to be Sony's October launch plan for the PS5 Pro, so it seems the company is sticking with its current marketing approach. Jeff Grubb, aka The Leak God, dropped the bombshell on his Game Mess Mornings show. Jeff is considering the PlayStation State of Play that was released at the tail end of May, the most recent PlayStation event he disclosed. Even though they knew that May had more than three days, players without inside knowledge argued that Grubb was incorrect.
Potential game releases at the PS5 Pro event when his suspicions were confirmed, Grubb naturally had a blast on Twitter. It isn't a PlayStation showcase, but what else may we see at a different State of Play? These usually last between twenty and forty minutes, and Sony is expected to announce the Pro's release date and show out some titles to pique the interest of Sony fans in spending an additional $400 to $500 on a console update. Lego Horizon Adventures, set to be published in November, is probably one of these games. This may also be an opportunity to unveil Ghost of Tsushima 2, which might be released in 2025, and Marvel's Wolverine, which could be released in 2025 or 2026.
The chances for a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLC announcement are high. Additionally, the DLC has been circulating online for months, and fans eagerly await an official announcement. If a DLC is shown at the event, I would not be surprised if it is announced in October or November. This makes perfect sense since Insomniac intends to release another Spider-Man 2 update this year.
